Tier 2 Spring 2026: Food and Housing

The Office of Local and Regional Health is excited to share Tier 2 dates for both the Massachusetts Retail Food Inspection Training Program and the Massachusetts Housing Inspection Training Program for Spring 2026. As a reminder, Tier 2 is the instructor-led classroom portion of the training programs and is facilitated in a hybrid format, requiring attendance in both virtual and in-person sessions.

The Spring 2026 Tier 2 offerings are:

Housing

  • May 6, from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (In-Person - Marlborough, Mass.)
  • May 19, 20, & 21, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Virtual)

Food

  • June 2, 3, & 4, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Virtual)
  • June 9 & 10, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (In-person - Marlborough, Mass.)

To qualify for Tier 2, you must be registered for Tier 1 on TRAIN and have completed all Tier 1 coursework by January 31, 2026. All qualified participants will be contacted by email with instructions on how to enroll in Tier 2 in February. If there are more qualified participants than seats available, a lottery system will be used to select Tier 2 seat placement.
